High in the Canadian Rockies, 2800 meters above sea level, glacial ice melts.
Cascading downward, it collects and forms a pristine lake. The water draining from the south end of the lake tumbles into and along the floor of a valley. Twisting and turning on its sloping journey, it is strengthens by the convergence of many other streams.
By the time this river flows though the Banff town site and thunders over the Bow Falls it has become an object of beauty and wonder. More importantly all along its mountainous course, it has provided refreshment and life to every living thing from the heights of the Bow Summit to the plains below Mount Yamuska.
Like the Bow River, Banff's Full Gospel Church exists to bring life to our valley. It is the water of life Jesus offers to all who are thirsty. Jesus promised, "He who believes in Me, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water". This living water fills us with abundant life, which in turn flows out from us to others.
As the Bow river gathers strength and momentum from many sources, Banff's Full Gospel Church receives and unites many individuals in pursuit of a common goal.
Our Mission:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19&20
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses unto Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

The beginnings of Banff's Full Gospel Church can be traced to home meetings started in 1922 with a desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. In 1940 Sunday meetings commenced in the L.O.O.F. hall at 111 Beaver Street. (Also a few summers during the war years the Lux Theatre on Banff Avenue was used).
The Church was incorporated in 1962 under the provincial Societies Act. In 1969 the cedar log building and manse at the corner of Cougar and Squirrel streets were erected and dedicated to the glory of God. The congregation undertook a major expansion of its facilities by adding a two story extension and enlarging the auditorium in 1995/96.
The Godhead
We believe in the one and only true, holy and living God. He is the Eternal Spirit, Creator, Sovereign and Preserver of all things visible and invisible. God reveals Himself as the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, distinct but inseparable, eternally One in essence and power.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, in whom the divine and human natures are perfectly and inseparable united. He is the eternal Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. As the Ministering Servant He lived, suffered, and died on the cross. He was buried, rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended into heaven to be with the Father, from where He will return. He is the eternal Savior and the Mediator, who intercedes for us, and by whom all people will be judged.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from and is one in being with the Father and the Son. He leads people to repentance; comforts, sustains, empowers and sanctifies the faithful, guiding them into all truth.
Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible and written Word of God, and constitutes the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The Church
We believe that the Christian Church is the community of born-again believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Under the discipline of the Holy Spirit, the church exists in local expression to glorify Christ through worship, fellowship, and edification of believers, and to represent Him in the world. We believe the Great Commission is the primary mission of the Church.
